New initiative sees South Australian Government sharing facilities and resources with volunteer groups
In a real win for the community, more South Australian Government owned facilities and resources are now available for use by volunteer organisations across the State.
In early 2009, the South Australian Cabinet endorsed a landmark submission by the Office for Volunteers, supported by the Volunteer Ministerial Advisory Group, Volunteer Partnership Action Committee and the Minister for Volunteers, to make more SA Government owned facilities and resources available for use by volunteer organisations.
Over the past 12 months, this new Volunteer Partnership - Accessing Resources project has seen the Office for Volunteers working closely with South Australian Government departments to review, develop and implement strategies to increase use of their facilities and resources by volunteer groups.
The result is the following (growing!) list of facilities and resources currently on offer to volunteer organisations for free or at a reduced/small hire cost.
