Partnership Review Implementation 2011

The recent 2010 review of the Advancing the Community Together Partnership between the Volunteer Sector and the South Australian Government identified a number of areas to be addressed by the partnership over the next two years. In particular:

  • Development of a new model to better target the free volunteer training program provided by the government to meet the needs of local communities,
  • Identification of specific insurance and risk management issues in preparation for a “think tank” bringing insurance, government and community representatives together to identify potential approaches and solutions.
  • Reviewing the regulatory requirements currently placing pressure on volunteer groups and propose strategies to alleviate their operational impact

Further actions recommended in the Review that are currently underway are:

  • A revision of the ACT Partnership document, Advancing the Community Together
  • Appointment of a new Ministerial Advisory Group on Volunteering (MAGV)
  • Appointment of the intra government Volunteer Partnership Action Committee (VPAC)
