The 2006 Congress: ‘Tapping Community Capacity: Experience + Ideas= ?’ was held at the National Wine Centre and attracted over 250 people. The event was opened by Minister for Volunteers Hon Jennifer Rankine MP and featured keynote speaker Vanessa Little, General Manager of the internationally renowned Hume Global Learning Village (external link) program.
A highlight of the day was a panel discussion which examined the recovery experiences of the 2005 Eyre Peninsula Bushfires, Cyclone Larry in Far North Queensland and Cyclone Katrina that devastated New Orleans. The session was recorded and broadcast on Radio Adelaide (external link). You can listen to it here.
It was a jam packed day, but rather than read about it - why not watch it on video! This year we proudly joined up with Uni SA (external link) students, who, as part of their curriculum, filmed the day. If you scroll down you will see the days Agenda accompanied by a link to the corresponding video footage.
And lets not forget our roaming photographer took lots of fantastic shots of the day. See if you can find someone you know in the 2006 Congress Photo Album.
