The Office for Volunteers Volunteer Support Fund provides grants of up to $3,000 to community organisations to assist their volunteer programs and benefit the community.
The grants support community organisations to provide training and resources for volunteers.
In recognition of 2011 as the 10th anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers, this year, grants were also made available for community events being held around International Volunteers Day (December 5) to recognise and thank volunteers.
Organisations must be community based, not-for-profit and incorporated (or auspiced) to be eligible to apply for the Volunteer Support Fund.

Successful applicants to the Volunteer Support Fund have received assistance with

- purchasing equipment for volunteers eg safety equipment, white goods
- purchasing resources for volunteers eg computer software, training dvds/videos
