2006 Volunteers Day

Almost 2,000 volunteers from across South Australia attended the 2006 Volunteers Day celebration enjoying the occasion at the Adelaide Festival Theatre.

The performance of Flat on Your Bacharach from the Adelaide Cabaret Festival was a great highlight and MC, Peter Goers from 891 ABC Adelaide was in fine form.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of the Premier’s Business Awards and the inaugural Joy Noble Medals by Her Excellency Marjorie Jackson-Nelson, Governor of South Australia.

Joy Noble Medal winners were:

  • The English Language Learning
  • Improvement Service (Education Category)
  • Friends of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Health)
  • Mr Raymond Duance (Environment)
  • Ms Pamela Hill (Community Service)

Premiers Business Award for Volunteering winners were:

  • National Australia Bank
  • The Advertiser Newspaper
