South Australia’s Volunteers Day
The South Australian Government values the significant contribution made by volunteers across the State. In recognition of this enormous effort, it has proclaimed a special day in their honour. Volunteers Day is now celebrated on the Queen’s Birthday public holiday every year, with a free recognition event hosted by the Minister Volunteers.
2010 Volunteers Day Concert at the Adelaide Festival Centre!
The annual Volunteers Day concert was held at the Adelaide Festival Theatre on Monday 14 June, the Queen's Birthday and Volunteers Day public holiday in South Australia.
Prestigious volunteer awards were also presented on the day to recognise the outstanding contribution of volunteers in our State. Awards presented included the 2010 Premier’s Business Awards in Volunteering, Joy Noble Medal and the community project award, The Andamooka.
