International Volunteer Day is recognised on 5 December each year. The Office for Volunteers has traditionally recognised this important day by hosting the free State Volunteer Congress.
In 2015 and 2016, to complement reporting on the Volunteering Strategy for South Australia, the Congress was transferred from International Volunteer Day to take place during National Volunteer Week in May of each year.
The Congress seeks to play an important role in providing information and discussing topical themes with South Australian volunteers.
